These are the habits you should avoid after eating any meals Mistake #1: Drinking lots of water with your meal Water is essential but drowning your meals with lots of water can cause indigestion and make you feel bloated afterwards. Solution: Drink lots of water either an hour before or after your meals. Take a small sip on a glass of water throughout your meal. Mistake #2: Eating lots of starch and protein together Protein is known to a slower rate of digestion, and starches digest much faster into simple sugars. Solution: Eat your starch first then, that's the time you eat protein. You can have small serving of starch alongside protein but don't overdo. Mistake #3: Having ice-cold water with your meal Ice-cold water constricts blood vessels, so it hinders the body’s ability to digest food and absorb nutrients. It will soliify the fats you've consume that results difficulty in digesting. Solution: Drink water at room temperature. You can alao order hot water or green tea to start with your meal.
